Working with us
How is this useful to our team already building with AI?
Your team can build the everyday solutions they want, and we want them to keep building. We make what they build secure and connect it to everything else you run.
How do we know which of Synthesis, Cortex or Catalyst we need?
Tell us the situation in a consultation and we will tell you which fits. If none does, we will say so.
Do you work with our existing engineering team?
Yes. Forward-deployed engineers (FDEs) work inside your team. With a Build or with build, operate, transfer (BOT), we work alongside it and your team stays on its roadmap.
What if we already started building and it's a mess?
Synthesis exists for exactly that: tools built fast and independently that now conflict with each other.
We have no technical team at all. Is that a problem?
No. Catalyst covers a founder taking an idea to something real people can use, without hiring anyone.
What happens in the first conversation?
We understand your needs and discuss the most suitable options for you. Within 24 hours you get an assessment report, and whether Mu Labs is a good fit for you. Free of cost.

How do you price?
Per engagement, once we understand the scope.
How long does it take?
It depends on what you are building. You get an assessment report within 24 hours of the consultation. If you have a strict deadline, we are happy to work with you toward it.
Is the first conversation free?
Yes. Free, no strings attached.
Do you do fixed scope or ongoing work?
Both. Depends on what you need. A Build has a fixed scope and a handover. FDEs stay as long as you need them. BOT sits between: we build it, run it, then hand it over.
Ownership
Who owns the IP?
You do, always. All of it, including infrastructure configuration, repos, and documentation.
What happens when you leave?
Everything keeps running. Under BOT we run it for a period, then hand it over with the knowledge behind it. A Build ends at handover. With FDEs there is nothing to hand over, because the work is always inside your team.
Data and security
Where does our data go?
Nowhere beyond the environment it runs in: yours by default, or one we host for you if you prefer. The models run inside that environment.
Can it run in our environment?
Everything runs in your environment by default, or we host it for you if you prefer.
Do you train anything on our data?
Only models built for you. If you want an open source model fine-tuned on your data, it stays yours, and nothing we deploy sends your data to a third party for training.
What can we show a security reviewer?
We build to the controls your SOC 2, GDPR or HIPAA obligations call for.
Will you sign an NDA?
Yes, before anything substantive is discussed if you prefer.
